Nokia is a brand of trust. People would anyway buy a Nokia phone because of its past brand value. Ever since its adoption of Android, people have got what they wanted since the popularity of Android.

The iPhone X-like notch phone. The phone doesn’t have those many sensors like the iPhone X but it surely has a notch like that. The price of this phone is expected to be around 15000-20000 INR.

It’s got dual rear-facing cameras (13+5 MP), a 5.9 inch LCD display and a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset.

A phone around Rs. 10000. Features 5.2 inch LCD display, MediaTek MT6750 chipset, a single rear-facing camera (13 MP).

While writing a post I never felt this much sad than today. I was so excited to cover the best Nokia phone in different price segments and look, None of them are up to the mark.

Clearly, the company is no longer innovating. Instead, they are just copying (notch?). Look at the chipset they use, see their displays and PPI and compare with any Xiaomi or OnePlus phone in a similar price bracket. It feels like Nokia is the new Oppo and Vivo which they were one year back. Even they started to innovate.

Nokia, best known for its sturdy build quality but that’s a thing of a past now. Earlier Nokia models used to be made of rigid plastic and the phone didn’t have that many components as of today. Seeing the trend of full display glass, metal body, etc. Nokia phones are just as same as any other smartphone on the market of similar body build and dimensions.

One thing to note here is that all new Nokia phones have Android One as their OS. Some users may not like it, especially when paying more than Rs. 20000 (or ~$300) for a mobile phone.

If you were to ask me what Nokia phone to buy as of 2018, I would suggest you stay away from Nokia for the time and choose OnePlus, Xiaomi (and even Oppo, Vivo phones). I will soon write a case-study on Nokia as I did for Sony.
